• Unit preferences (temperature, measurement units)

1.2 Baby and Child Information

To provide our service, you may optionally enter:

• Baby's name or nickname
• Date of birth
• Gender (optional)
• Health-related entries: feeding times/amounts, diaper changes, temperature readings, medications, bath times, weight, height, head circumference, and notes

Important: This information is stored solely to provide you with tracking functionality. We do not analyze, profile, or monetize this data in any way.

1.3 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store, process, or have access to your full credit card number. We only receive:

• Stripe customer ID (for managing your subscription)
• Subscription status and plan type
• Last 4 digits of your card (for display purposes only)

1.4 Automatically Collected Information

We use Google Analytics to understand general usage patterns. This includes:

• Pages visited and general navigation patterns
• Device type and browser information
• Approximate geographic region (country/city level)
• Referral source

Google Analytics data is anonymized and used solely to improve the service. We do not use this data for behavioral advertising or cross-site tracking.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively to:

• Provide and maintain the LogInfant service
• Process your subscription and payments
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset, subscription updates)
• Respond to your support requests
• Improve service reliability and fix bugs

We do NOT use your information to:

• Send marketing emails (unless you explicitly opt in)
• Serve advertisements
• Create behavioral profiles
• Sell or share with data brokers or marketers
• Train AI or machine learning models

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information only with:

• Stripe: For payment processing (they have their own privacy policy)
• Email service provider: For sending transactional emails only
• Hosting provider: Our servers are hosted on Hetzner (Germany/EU), subject to GDPR

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.

4. Data Retention

• Active accounts: Data is retained as long as your account is active
• Cancelled subscriptions: Your data remains accessible (with free tier limits) indefinitely
• Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Backups: Encrypted backups may retain data for up to 90 days for disaster recovery purposes

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures:

• All data transmitted over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+)
• Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with salt
• Database access is restricted and monitored
• Regular security updates and patches

However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data
• Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
• Export: Download your data in CSV format (available in-app for Premium users)
• Restriction: Request that we limit how we use your data

7. Children's Privacy

LogInfant is designed to be used by parents and caregivers (adults). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. The baby/child data entered is provided by parents or guardians and is used solely for the tracking features they have requested.

8. International Data Transfers

Our servers are located in the European Union (Germany). If you access our service from outside the EU, your data will be transferred to and processed in the EU, which has strong data protection laws under GDPR.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies for:

• Authentication (keeping you logged in)
• Session management
• Remembering your timezone preference

Google Analytics may set its own cookies for analytics purposes. You can opt out of Google Analytics using browser extensions or settings.
